Most people dream about someday getting married to the love of their life. Your honeymoon should be one of the happiest times of your life, but for one woman, it turned into a living nightmare. She was fuming when her husband decided to ditch her during their honeymoon to hang out with his friends. He claims it’s her fault. We have all the details right here.

Her Side Of The Story

Reddit user, Vivid_Routine1003, took to the popular subreddit r/AmITheJerk to share her story. She explained that she and her husband were spending their honeymoon in Hawaii when some of his friends decided to go on holiday nearby.

One evening, his friend invited them over for a couple of drinks, but she didn’t feel like going out that night. Despite telling her new husband she wanted to stay in, he decided to go out and see his friends without her, leaving her alone at the hotel.

She wrote, “We were on our honeymoon in Hawaii, and my husband’s friends found out through social media that we were there. They reached out to him saying we should come out and grab a drink. These are my husband’s friends, many of them I’ve maybe only met once before.

“I didn’t want to go out since it was getting late and thought we should head to bed. I also thought our honeymoon was just for us to spend time with each other without seeing other people. I am an introvert while he is an extrovert. My husband’s argument was that because these friends live in different cities than us, he rarely gets to see them. And they really wanted to spend some time with us.”

According to the woman, her husband spent one or two hours out with his friends while she stayed alone in the hotel and decided to go to bed. “[Am I in the wrong] for saying he shouldn’t have gone out but instead stayed with me since it was our honeymoon, and not just some other vacation (in which I would have been fine with it)?”

The Comments

The post caught the attention of thousands of Redditors, and they rushed to the comments to give their opinions. Some agreed with the woman, while others thought her husband’s actions were completely fine. This was what they had to say:

Bittergreen49 wrote, “You’re an introvert and he’s an extrovert? Get used to this behavior. You have different needs, neither is right or wrong, just different. Take his time away as you time to recharge your batteries.”

TapPrancer commented, “You were going to bed, and he is an extrovert with friends he hasn’t seen in a long time. He didn’t go on a wild night out, he was out for 1-2 hours. I get that it’s a honeymoon and you want it to be just the two of you, however extroverts recharge by socialising, it probably charged him up for the rest of the time with you.

Fancy_Bass_1920 said, “I agree with your husband in this case but only because it was for 1-2 hours. And yes I am a woman. You could have used the time to have a relaxing bath or read. Believe me as much as I love my husband and kids those little bits of time I get to myself mean so much. You’ll see.”
